Day 1 – Turn Your Shine On
“The only permanent and constructive changes you can make in the world are the changes that you make in yourself.” - Gary Zukav
Welcome!
I’m so excited that you are here to join me as we spend the next 33 days turning up your Shine, or perhaps we’re even igniting it…
So today we are going to dive right in and I want to get you eating more! Yes that’s right more!
So for the next three days we are going to be increasing the amount of raw food in your diet. If you’re stuck for ideas then check out the raw food recipe page, there’s over 50 delicious recipes waiting for you – everything from soups and pastas to chocolate brownies.
Today I want you to add a salad to one of your meals (or even two meals if you’re extra keen!), notice I said add and not replace. If you would usually have a pasta dish or a sandwich, great enjoy your pasta or sandwich and also enjoy a large serving of salad too!
Now I want you to move away from thinking that salad is boring, or that it is just iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomato. Let’s face it, that’s a garnish and uninspiring. I want you to start seeing salads as the vibrant main even that they can be! But remember we are starting small and to start with, just focus on adding a side plate of salad to your meal.
To help you on your way I have created a Recipe card for you – click here to get the 3-Steps to create your perfect salad every time
Day 1 challenge
- Add a salad to one of your main meals
- Post a comment below and share what salad combination you had
Here’s one I made earlier…

It’s official…
Yes it’s official!
This week I passed my raw chef certification training!
I still think the idea of me being a ‘chef’ is really funny, especially as when I was at university my idea of cooking was toast!
But that’s one of the reasons that I LOVE raw foods – raw food can be sooo quick and easy to put together and taste so divine! And I wholeheartedly believe that if I can create really tasty recipes, anyone can!
Of course there are raw recipes that can take days to prepare – I was looking at a raw bread recipe that takes over 20 hours to dehydrate. To some that can seem overwhelming, but I still stand by the fact that all you need to create some amazing raw food dishes is a chopping board and a knife.
So if you can get to Staffordshire and would like to attend a raw food class, drop me an email for details of my next class – you won’t regret it!
Here are what others had to say about the class:
“Rebecca is extremely informative with a lovely down to earth approach. It was good to see the practical side of recipes that were well executed” ~ Julie
“Very inspiring, shows how much you can do with raw food – flavours and textures. It has broadened my ideas greatly. Lovely teaching style” ~ Alison

“An amazing introduction to the world of raw food” ~ Kate
Raw Food Recipe Index Page

- Salads and Mains

I know how much you love recipes and we all know how important they are if you want to stay raw and SHINE, so go over and check out the Raw Food Recipe Index Page – be inspired and get experimenting!
How to get the best out of eating at a restaurant on a raw foods diet

However when you are on a raw foods diet, you may think eating out is a challenge.
Here are my top tips to deal with eating at a restaurant:
- Book the restaurant in advance, this way you can research the menu and decide what you are going to have to eat. This will take away the stress of wondering if there is anything on the menu.
- If there is not a specific meal on the menu, read what ingredients the menu has and see if you can adapt it - for example they may have a salmon salad on the menu and another dish with guacamole, you could ask the chef if you could have an avocado salad.
- Before you leave for the restaurant have a piece of fruit or a green smoothie. This may seem counter intuitive but if you arrive at the restaurant hungry you are more likely to make unsupportive food choices.
- If you don’t manage to eat as you had wanted to, accept it and make different choices at your next meal.
Most importantly enjoy your experience!

The Party is in full swing
The 21 day raw food celebration is still in full swing and it’s not too late to join.
The response to the recipes that I’ve shared have been amazing.
There have been juices, smoothies, desserts and of course ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
If you’ve ever wondered what a raw food diet looks like there are even menu plans to follow.
The favourite recipe so far has been for my chocolate brownies, but I think some of the recipes that are coming up will give it a run for it’s money, such as my new favourite recipe my creamy Raw Alfredo.
If you would like to join us, and you will receive access to the recipes that have already been shared, just complete the form below.
Oh did I mention all this is free? This is my gift to you!
We had a great party – if you missed it, I hope to see you at the next one!
How to choose recipes that support you
Not all food is created the same.

Choose food that supports you
Just because a meal is raw doesn’t mean that it is better for you than something cooked. Take for example a complex raw dessert made with lost of nuts, dried fruit and syrup, this will have a very different affect on the body compared with some lightly steamed fresh vegetables.
Don’t get me wrong I am not suggesting that raw food is bad for you, as you know I fully celebrate the wonders of raw food, but it worth bearing in mind that if your raw food diet is made up of mostly complex raw foods that try and recreate cooked versions of food, you will have a very different experience of raw food than someone who is eating a raw food diet in its most natural form i.e. lots of salads, living foods, simple smoothies and juices.
It’s important to establish how you need your diet to support you, for example do you want to:
- Lose weight
- Find your ideal weight
- Have more energy
- Connect to your higher self
Then you need to look at the food and ask yourself how you need your food and meals to be to fit into your life, for example:
- Do you need recipes that are quick and easy to make
- Do you enjoy spending lots of time creating recipes
- Is the sharing of meals important to you
- When you socialise is food a focal point
- Are social and ethical issues more important to you
- What kind of tastes do you tend to be drawn towards
Once you have answered these questions it is much easier to find recipes that will help you achieve this and you will find your raw food adventures much more rewarding and enjoyable.
Your Favourite Raw Food Recipes
Once you have decided to follow any kind of diet plan it is important to have access to recipes that you love and that inspire you.
This is even more important as you embark on your adventures on a raw food diet because you may face many obstacles and challenges, not just from yourself, but by those around you. So by ensuring that you are set up with your recipes will make it easier for you to stay on your chosen path and have one less excuse not to make delicious meals.
I recommend that you create your own tailored recipe folder. This is really easy to do and great fun. All you need is a folder, some dividers and perhaps you might want to create a beautiful and inspiring cover to remind yourself of why eating this way.
Then split your folder into categories, there are many ways to do this, but choose what works for you:

Recipes for success
By Meal:
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Evening Meal
- Snacks
By meal type:
- Quick and easy recipes
- Soups and smoothies
- Salads
- Indulgent recipes
- Desserts
You may even want to create categories on how the food makes you feel such as:
- Comfort
- Energised
- Warming
- Clean
You may even consider creating recipes by the seasonal produce that is available:
- Spring
- Summer
- Autumn
- Winter
Once you have your folder ready, you can then have fun filling it with your favourite recipes. You may have these from raw food cookbooks that you have brought, raw food magazines, recipes that have found on the internet, recipes shared at potlucks or amongst friends and don’t forget to include your own delicious raw food creations and variations on recipes.
There are so many recipes out there for all tastes, moods and occasions have fun finding what works for you.
