Using raw foods to connect to your inner self

Welcome to Shine on Raw

Happy Birthday to Shine on Raw!!

This is the very first post that I wrote – one year ago to the day:

I am pleased that you are here to join me in the adventure to increase your Shine using raw foods

Shine is your natural state of being; harmonious and in alignment with nature and your higher purpose. However many of us have forgotten or lost contact with this connection.

A major reason for this disconnect is our use of food. Instead of eating to nurture and nourish ourselves we have developed a very complex relationship with food and often use it to mask other issues.

We may eat because we are stressed, to comfort ourselves or to celebrate. Some people don’t eat so that they can literally ‘disappear’ and not be seen by the world, others may eat to excess to build up a layer of ‘protection’ and others use food as something to control in a world that appears full of chaos.

The food that we eat creates our body and the way that we experience the world

In harmony with nature

In harmony with nature

So imagine what it would feel like…, how your life would be…., if your relationship with food was free of these issues? What could you achieve if the food you ate supported you, nurtured you and created a body, mind, heart and soul that was balanced, in harmony and aligned with your greatest purpose?

  • What would you do?
  • What would you achieve?
  • What would you feel called to do?

It is my suggestion to you that by following a lifestyle that contains delicious food in its natural state, full of life force and abundant Shine, will increase the overall Shine in your life.

In my experience following this lifestyle is an amazing journey into self discovery where the possibilities are only limited by your own imagination.

As with all good journeys there are three key stages:

  1. Get Ready – You need to focus and understand where you are starting your journey from, what condition you are in, are you prepared, and what tools and equipment do you have and what else do you need?
  2. Get Set – You need to know where it is that you are going and importantly, why it is that you want to go there. It also helps to have a map so that you can plan and know what to expect.
  3. Go – You need to take your first steps on your journey and have your tools ready in case you come across any obstacles.

If you would like a more focused outline to your own adventure I have put together a free e-course for you “The 3 Simple Steps that you must take to Shine on Raw”, to receive this all you need to do is fill in your name and email details in the box at the top of this page and you can have instant access to it.

So where is it that you would like to go?

You are what you eat?

I don’t know about you but I like to think that we are more than the sum of what we eat.

What does your food say about you?

We are the reflection (and creation) of so many factors, including:

  • Your expressions
  • Your friendships
  • Your environment

However there is no escaping the importance of what you eat.

Your food literally creates you. Your body uses food as a tool to do its daily chores of renewing you at a cellular level, it repairs you when you are damaged and will replenish you when your energy is low.

I don’t know about you, but when I do any chore I like to use the right tools for the job. It makes my life much easier and more efficient, leaving me time to do other things. For example have you ever tried collecting up leaves from your yard using a shovel? Although it is possible, it’s not the best tool for the job and takes much more effort and time than using a good stiff brush, or better still a purpose designed leaf collector!

So why would your body be any different?

If you are eating junk food, you can expect your body to struggle to break it down and find the nutrients that it needs to do its daily chores of keeping you healthy and vibrant. The more junk food you eat, and when consumed on a regular basis, the harder and harder it becomes for your body to perform optimally, and the slower your system responds to daily tasks.

On the other hand if you are eating foods full of vibrancy and nutritional value, such as raw and living foods, you can expect your body to respond accordingly and perform with much greater ease and efficiency.

So although you may be more than what you eat, your food choices really do have an incredible impact on how you show up in the world!

What will you choose?
